#100 – Tracy Nessl *

Well, this one certainly has it all – money, exotic locales, beautiful people, a big trial … and a little incest to boot.

Tim McNamara was 66. Tracy Nessl was 44. They met at a wedding. Oh, Tim also just happened to be Tracy’s uncle.

Months into their relationship, a besotted Tim gave Traci millions in property & insurance money. They then moved to Belize – to get away from their disapproving relatives, start a B&B, and get hitched.

On Christmas Day 2014, however, everything came to a grinding halt. Tracy claims she heard a bang, then found Tim outside laying on his side, dying.

She claimed it was suicide, but the Belizean authorities weren’t so sure. In particular, they found:

  • The wound was on the top rear part of his head, an unusual – and difficult – place to shoot oneself.
  • The gun was Tracy’s.
  • She didn’t report the incident for 3 whole hours.
  • The shooting happened just days before Tim’s life insurance was set to expire.
  • After being interviewed but before being charged, Tracy fled to the US.

She would never be extradited. She would, though, lose a civil suit to Tim’s children, for a cool $3.3M.

Just to add to the fun, Tracy claimed that she had sex with one of Tim’s sons soon after the shooting (he denied it). There were also rumors of an affair between Nessl and her attorney.

All in all, some pretty bizarre stuff. You need to go online for some of the interviews she did, to get a real feel for how out there she truly is.

Introduction

I love true crime. It’s my number one secret / shameful pleasure.

One subgenre I like in particular is when it’s a woman who’s the killer. I don’t know, I just figure it’s so darn unusual. I mean, for every 10 murderers in the US, 9 of them are males. How interesting to see the gentler sex take their turn at murder and mayhem.

And one thing I’ve found that makes such killers even more interesting is when they are total babes. And, yes, I do realize that’s totally sexist. I figure, though, if you’re going to go ahead and admit to loving true crime, you might as well go ahead and double down on a little casual lookism, right?

I’ve actually already published a couple of blog posts about “hot killer babes.” These, though, tended to be all the very well-known ones – Jodi Arias, Casey Anthony, Amanda Knox, et al. I must admit I really didn’t have any good sources on hand for that either.

And then I discovered the Peacock network. Wow! Between Snapped and Killer Couples and even She Made Me Do It, I found plenty. 100 of ‘em, to be exact (with a few that just snuck in there while I was doing research).

NOTES

  • They’re ranked in increasing order of babalisciousness  (sp?)
  • I am the sole arbiter of that particular quality
  • That quality is reflected solely in the pix I could find on Google Images
  • Convicted murderers only, please
  • Americans only, I'm afraid (99.9% of what those shows cover)
  • * = I saw the doc; # = I read the book

Ready? Here we go!
